This goes to all fresh high school graduates out there, yes you. Ever had the feeling in the pit of your stomach when picking a college course and you just completely spaced out? Well I did, I was scared of picking a course not only because I do not know if I can handle the subjects but also because I was afraid that I did not pick the right course, that I would be bored and have to shift to another course. Shifting does not only mean paying your tuition again but also losing your time and effort during the semester.
So here are top courses in the Philippines that hopefully would be helpful (not in particular order):
ENGINEERING- the demand of engineering graduates has been steadily increasing by 2.5% yearly.
EDUCATION- the lack of educators in developing countries, like us, is growing. Teachers, professors, childcare teachers and lecturers are in demand in the Philippines and in other countries as well.
HEALTH SCIENCES- according to the Department of Labor and Employment, the manpower request for graduates of Health related courses have been increasing steadily by 2.3% yearly.
AGRICULTURE- developing countries are known for its agricultural products. The Philippines is one of the top exporters of these agricultural products, that is why the demand of graduates with agriculture related courses have been increasing.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY- the demand for skilled workers in this industry has been increasing rapidly at about 6.4% early which is more than twice the other courses.
CULINARY AND HOTEL & RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT- the demand of tourism courses like chef, hotel managers, tour guides, etc. have been greatly increasing.
It is up to you to pick whatever course you really want. I was just stating the top courses here in the Philippines just in case you find them interesting. So, good luck in picking and I hope that whatever course you choose will be a stepping stone towards your future.
